Absolute classic

Twice Two, saw mill, the boat and the murder case are my favourites. What makes me laugh more is watching my old dad crying silently with laughter as we used to watch these as kids.

I have owned the DVD for about 8 years.

When I put it on to play, I found that it was in Black and White. I immediately switched it off, and haven't watched it since.

"Do something to help me!"

...was a classic line, used many times, but I'm trying to remember which 20 minute short it was where Ollie was on his back, under water in a goldfish pond, or something, after some mishap or enother, and that line came out all bubbly.

I remember convulsing as a kid to that. Also vaguely remember some haunted house type 20 minute short being one f my favourites.

I think I will have to spare some readies for this Box set, especuially if it really is only £35. That's a scandolously good price, Almost criminal.

Re: Laurel & Hardy
that rope bridge scene is Swiss Miss. i watched it earlier and nearly pissed myself when Olly falls through the broken slats and is hanging by his feet. every time they look down in to the valley/canyon some cunt yodels and then the director introduces a gorilla to the scene. hahahaha

If you haven't got it, get the Laurel and Hardy DVD box set from Amazon.
£35 and probably a weeks non stop of material. Worth every penny!

Morden and District in Surrey.
Was back in 1990. Kept the name for a few seasons,
won a cup but once most of the original team had retired they changed the name to something more...er...normal.
Am sure another WHOer played against us, sorry cant remember who it was.

Can't remember which film it is, but I loved the scene where Stan sat eating his way through a bowl of ornamental wax fruit. His puzzled facial expressions were brilliant. Ollie sits there incredulous, letting him get on with it.

Whoever mentioned Bilko - that was a great shout. Loved the episode where they secretly kept and trained a race horse in the barracks.

Love Stan and Ollie.
We named our Sunday Team after them - Sons of the Desert FC.

Recently I found a fantastic silent film of theirs that I'd not seen before called LIBERTY on YouTube.
Bloody marvellous. Like finding Gold.

There's a brilliant statue of Stan & Ollie with a little dog, in my home town of Ulverston, outside the town hall
Every time I see it I have a little snigger to myself ~ You can just visualise something about to happen, like the dogs lead getting tangled around their legs or similar
I think there might be a picture of it on wiki
